This Sycamore stands alone just as you leave the pavement and start walking down the trail. I love it and have photographed it many times, Summer and Fall. I love this composition in particular; I like how the Junipers frame the Sycamore and place it in space. I took this photograph facing south towards Oak Creek and Schnebly Hill Road and Huckaby Trail. The light is bright, around 03:30PM in the afternoon. I took the above photo with my PhaseOne 645AF Medium Format camera and digital back, and PhaseOne 45mm f2.8 SEKOR-D AF lens.

I took the photo below the next afternoon. The sky is cloudless and much more intense blue, which makes the orange leaves on the Sycamore stand out and look much more vivid. I took the photo below with my Ebony SV810 camera, Rodenstock SIRONAR-S 240mm f5.6 lens, and Fuji VELVIA 50 color slide film.

I like both photos; they really capture my feeling for this Sycamore: alone, brilliant, vivid, standing out.
