Fall leaves on the Sycamores behind 2 large rocks in the wash along Girdner Trail in west Sedona.

These Sycamores are standing along the wash across from Girdner Trail. I photographed all of the trees, then took this closeup. I found that I loved this closeup the best of all. Just an amazing arrangement of colors and shapes. I love the contrast between the dark green leaves against the lighter yellow-green leaves and orange Sycamore leaves, the contrast of the texture of the cold hard rocks against the warm soft organic tree trunks, and the contrast of the earth and sky. The image has a secondary color palette of orange, green, and purple.

I took this photo with my Toyo METAL FIELD CAMERA with 4x5 back, Nikon NIKKOR-SW 65mm f4 lens, and 4x5 Fuji VELVIA 100 color slide film.
