These photos are a variation on the 1st set, only looking east instead of north. The common factor in both sets of photos is the yellow bush in the foreground. the Sycamore in the center of the photo is the lone Sycamore from the previous webpage. I took the above photo with my Ebony SV57 camera, Schneider SUPER-SYMMAR XL 150mm f5.6 lens, and 5x7 Fuji VELVIA 100 color slide film.

I took the photo below a few minutes later. I used 4x5 film, which cropped the image and gave it a different aspect ratio compared to the above photo. The lone Sycamore is more clearly the subject of the photo. The colors of the composition are less balanced, with the orange of the Sycamore leaves and the red-orange of the red rocks clearly dominating the image. the Sycmore leaves and the red rocks tend to blend together more than in the above photo. I took the photo below with my Ebony SV57 camera, Schneider SUPER-SYMMAR XL 150mm f5.6 lens, and 4x5 Fuji VELVIA 50 color slide film.

Both photos feel like near misses to me. I feel that these photos would have been spectacular if the sunlight had been brightly illuminating the Sycamores like the previous webpage. However, I like them and feel that the composition of shapes is great.
