The leaves on the Sycamores change color last, usually in November. Probably because they are further south than the Maples and Aspens. The Sycamores also tend to be more temperamental about their leaf color; they sometimes change from green straight to brown. I had some difficulty finding the right time to photograph them when their leaves were changing color. 2008 turned out to be a bust. Fortunately, I got it right in 2009 and have some nice photos to show for it. 2011 also turned out to be a great year for them. My favorite places to photograph the Sycamores are Grasshopper Point in Oak Creek Canyon and around west Sedona.
