THURSDAY - Visiting with Uncle Jimmy and Susie

Thursday morning Marc and I got up and drove to Uncle Jimmy's. We arrived to find Uncle Jimmy relaxing in his sofa. He looked good and cracked a few jokes. He even pulled out his wedding photo album from when he and Aunt Bert got married back in the 50s. We saw some photos that we had never seen before (I now have orders from Jackie to get pictures or copies of rthese unseen photos, so we will probably visit Uncle Jimmy again next year). Uncle Jimmy also had soem radio controlled airplane gear that he was looking to give away.

Susie arrived a little while later with her dog Sam, a big labrador retriever mix. Sam is also kind of high maintenance. During the course of our visit, Sam insisted that everyone pet him. He kept going back and forth between the 4 of us wanting to be petted. Definitely an affection hound. Susie regaled us with tales of Sam and Stephanie and Andy's dogs (Susie is currently taking care of Stephanie and Andy's dogs). The latest news is that Susie is planning to graduate next May with her Ph.D., and Stephanie is planning to graduate next May as well with her B.S. degree. Andy is planning to move back to Houston soon. And Phil will be coming home for a visit in August sometime. Jimbo is still living and working in Midland. He came out for Uncle Jimmy's surgery the week before. That was all the Andrews news that we got.

Susie also talked about the drought in the Houston area. Apparently Conroe is on a voluntary water rationing plan at the moment where people are not supposed to water their lawns. And Susie or Uncle Jimmy mentioned that several fires had occurred and burnt down some houses in the Houston area. Definitely weird weather.

After visiting for several hours, we said our goodbyes and headed back to Houston to check into our hotel. Afterwards we drove over to SOUTHPAW'S® guitar shop to check out the left handed guitars.
