FRIDAY - Dinner with the Pitre Clan at DON'S Seafood Hut®

A quick visit with Felix and Gai

We got into Lafayette early Friday afternoon, checked into our hotel, and then visited with Felix and Gai. They are doing great and were up for a fun conversation. Felix and Gai also talked about the drought in the Lafayette area. Apparently, south Louisiana is not getting much rain either. Quite a contrast to what south Louisiana was like when we were growing up there. More weird weather. We visited until it was time to meet everybody for dinner.

Dinner at DON'S Seafood Hut®

We then drove over to DON'S Seafood Hut® to join Aunt Lou and the rest of the Pitre Clan for dinner. Our group included Aunt Lou (we were officially celebrating her Birthday), Dallas Junior, Eric and Lynne, Felix and Gai, Claire and her friend Kathy, Uncle Tom, Julie and Rusty and their sons Eric and Kevin, and David with Jonathan, Benjamin, and Gabriel. Melissa cannot handle seafood, so she drove over to Louis and Monica's with their daughter Catherine. I mainly visited with Claire and Julie. Claire was looking great and doing well. She had recently visited Aunt Dory and told us that the old Pitre home in Washington was now open by appointment. I was really happy to hear that because I want to go back and photograph it again. Julie got me up to date on everybody else and of course her life in Houston. I thne made the mistake of asking Lynne how college and Shawn were doing. Important safety tip; consult with Eric before asking Lynne any questions. Uncle Tom was looking great and upbeat as usual. Of course I ordered my usual fried alligator tails and crawfish etouffee and loved every bite. We visited for a couple of hours, then most of us drove over to Louis and Monica's to visit with them and eat Aunt Lou's world famous red velvet cake.
