After visiting SOUTHPAW'S® , Marc and I drove to Lafayette. We had a peaceful and uneventful drive through east Texas and into Louisiana and arrived in Lafayette with just enough time to check into our hotel and meet everybody for dinner at DON'S Seafood Hut® (you may be detecting a pattern here). When we got to the restaurant Aunt Lou, Felix and Gai, Lynne and Shawn, Julie and her son Eric, Dallas Junior, and Aunt Dory were already present. Shortly after we arrived, Uncle Tom and his wife Ellen and Claire arrived. And finally Eric arrived to complete our party. Well, I was suffering crawfish withdrawal symptoms so I ordered the crawfish dinner with crawfish prepared 50 zillion different ways, along with the fried alligator strips. That sure hit the spot! I loved it; I was so happy I was begining to sound like John Dempsey with a jar of Aunt Lou's candied figs! Oh yes, everybody else enjoyed their food as well. And after dinner Aunt Lou unveiled one of her yummy Red Velvet Cakes, the absolute best in the whole world! It was so good I had 2 big pieces. I loved it. And best of all, Aunt Lou gave me what was left. Life is good :-) And that was our homecoming dinner for 2010.
