This year I visited Marc to watch the Super Bowl. Marc and Keri invited several people, including Keri's son Nate and his wife Sarah and their kids, our neighbor Eric, a couple that Nate and Sarah know, and some of Marc and Keri's neighbors. Marc and Keri prepared a feast, along with help from everybody else (except possibly me, the non-food person). Keri even made some yummy jamabalaya. This year was special because the New Orleans Saints were playing. Growing up in Louisiana in the 70s (and on into the 80s and 90s) we got used to watching the Saints lose. It was something you could set your clock by; they were that predictable. However, in the last 10 years they started to improve. Heck, they even made the playoffs once or twice. Now they were in the Super Bowl. I could almost believe in miracles. Heck, Edwin Edwards got convicted, so I certainly believed in Justice!

Amazingly, shockingly, the Saints won. The game was tense up to the very end. I could not believe it. I was waiting for the weather report to say Hell froze over! Well, now I deifnitely believe in miracles. I feel hope. Amazing! And of course I enjoyed visiting with everybody. What a great event and experience.
