SUNDAY - Visiting with Aunt Dory, Paul and Rochelle and Miles and Rhiana, Mike, Eric and Lynne

Sunday morning Marc and I took it easy and recovered from our adventure at Eric and Emily's Wedding the previous day. We then drove leisurely to Prairieville to see the Pitre Clan in the Baton Rouge area. After arriving we immediately left for SAMMY's Seafood Restaurant® with Aunt Dory, Paul and Rochelle and Miles and Rhiana, Michael Paul, Eric and Lynne.

Aunt Dory and I visited while we waited for table to open up. Aunt Dory was shaky on her feet. She said that she was having difficulty with her balance and no longer drives to Lafayette. She was sorry that she missed Eric and Emily's Wedding.

Miles has grown a lot; in fact, he is now taller than me. And he is only 14! He now has a lawn mowing business… with Paul's help. And he is starting high school this Fall… already! Rhiana is just as vocal as last year; a welcome change from her years of silence. Rhiana is currently playing volleyball; she is taking the year off from soccer.

After another fantastic meal at SAMMY's Seafood Restaurant®, we returned to Paul and Rochelle's house to visit some more. Paul and Rochelle looked rested and happy. Paul and I discussed Edward Snowden and Julian Assange. According to Paul, the Australian Government pressured Assange's mother, which had a tremendous impact on Assange's attitude about Freedom of the Press. We then segued into discussing the InterNet and Privacy, FaceBook, the movie TERMS AND CONDITIONS MAY APPLY, companies tracking us online, etc. Paul said that his Dad was back in Las Vegas.

Mike looked great. He said that LSU is doing good, better than last year. No budget cuts at LSU; in fact, they may receive more money than last year. A welcome change from the last few years. His Dad is doing well and still working for now. Mike and I continued our discussion of Adobe CREATIVE CLOUD® from last year; done is still screwing up in selling tactics. We also agreed that APPLE has not introduced any innovative products since Steve Jobs died. We discussed Common Core, which neither of us clearly understand. Governor Jindahl is posturing for the Tea Party to run for President in 2016 by denouncing Common Core. The Louisiana Secretary of Education had signed a contract to implement Common Core, then Jindahl broke the contract.

Eric and Lynne were bubbly and happy and lots of fun as usual. They discussed house hunting and the 35 acre property with the humongous house that was too big to heat or cool (5-6,000 square feet). Eric and I briefly discussed politics and the merits of requiring property ownership to be eligible to vote. We also discussed a cousin get-together next year the weekend after Aunt Lou's Birthday. We would visit the Pitre family home in Washington that our Grandfather Joe Pitre grew up in and Uncle Dallas was born in and then eat dinner at the restaurant nearby (which even Uncle Jimmy knew about). So we are shooting for a cousin get-together the last weekend of June next year.

Eric and Paul talked a while about hunting and 4-wheeling with their buddies as well as Miles and Rhiana. Apparently, Paul needs to do more practice shooting with skeet before duck season starts. We then watched the World Cup Soccer Game between the USA and Portugal; good game that we ended up tying (which is better than losing). And then we visited for a couple more hours. At that point, it was getting late. So Marc and I said our goodbyes and drove back to our hotel. And such was our Pitre family visit for Sunday.
