I woke up at 06:45AM to discover that Steve had already taken Jules to the airport. I felt a little disappointed that I did not get to say goodbye to Jules. Then more bad news from Gai and Julie: Marie passed away the night before.
The kids were watching cartoons as I practiced yoga and got ready to leave. After I finished packing, I said goodbye to Jackie and Steve and the kids. I had a surprisingly easy drive to the airport, which I felt very happy about. I got through security quickly and just walked around the airport until my flight boarded.
My flight back to Phoenix was peaceful and quiet. I dropped off my film at TEMPE CAMERA REPAIR for developing and got some yummy food at PAPPADEAUX'S Seafood Kitchen on the way out of Phoenix. Then the accidents started: 2 accidents on Highway 51 in Phoenix. And the a big 18-wheeler on I17 at Mile 247 that delayed us for an hour. Eventually I got home and unpacked and relaxed, and such was my Portland trip for 2014.
