WEDNESDAY - Celebrating Jackie's Birthday

Jackie's Birthday Meal at FOGO DE CHAO

I woke up to John playing the PINK PANTHER Theme on the piano. Otherwise, the kids were quiet… so far. Jackie volunteered at James and John's school that morning. I spent the morning practicing Yoga. Jackie returned home in time for us to leave for her Birthday meal around noon. We drove to a Brazilian restaurant FOGO DE CHAO in downtown Portland. Absolutely incredible red wine and meat (especially the bacon wrapped Filet Mignon), and Turtle Cheesecake. We hated to leave!

Opening Birthday Gifts

After pigging out and enjoying every minute of it, Marc returned with us to watch Jackie open her Birthday Gifts at their house. Jackie enjoyed her gifts, while the kids clowned around as usual. Jackie got quite a stash, which was helpful because the movers still had not brought any of their clothes or furniture.

After visiting a little while longer, Marc walked back to his hotel. Jackie and Steve and I watched the DOCTOR WHO episode "TURN LEFT". I slept through most of the episode; I guess that I was more tired than I knew. After watching a little more DOCTOR WHO, we drove several blocks, parked the car, and then walked a few more blocks to a pastry shop called LE COOKIE MONKEY. Jackie and Steve and the kids all ate a cookie. The kids loved the shop. Sophia ate a huge M&M cookie and felt stuffed.

Then we walked to the coffee shop BOULANGERIE, where Jackie and Steve and the boys got drinks. Sophia did not order a drink, she just slurped Jackie's ice coffee and tea because she was not thirsty. Then we walked back to the car and drove back to the house. I stayed with the kids, while Jackie and Steve went shopping. I snoozed a lot (more).

Later Marc, Jackie and Steve returned to the house. We watched more episodes of DOCTOR WHO (BLINK and WATERS OF MARS). Between episodes we FaceTimed with Stephen. Then Steve took Marc back to his hotel, and I went to bed and slept. And such was our celebration of Jackie's Birthday this year.
