WEDNESDAY - Saying Goodbye to Aunt Lou and Felix

Wednesday morning Marc and I drove over to Aunt Lou's apartment to say goodbye before leaving for Houston. Felix was visiting, so we talked for a few hours. Both Felix and Aunt Lou recall Mom developing a lump in her throat lymph nodes in 2000, almost a year before MD ANDERSON diagnosed her as Stage IV. So her cancer started growing in 2000; I did not know that. I felt sad that Mom waited so long to get a checkup; she might have lived longer and/or had a better quality of life if the doctors had diagnosed her earlier.

Marc and Felix discussed Asheville, North Carolina, which is supposed to be a beautiful place to live. Apparently, some people that we know moved or are moving to Asheville. Eveutally ,we said our goodbyes and left Lafayette. Marc drove most of the way back to Houston, while I dozed off. Fortunately, the drive was peaceful and uneventful.

After getting into Houston, we checked into our hotel. We then made a quick drive over to RUGGLES GREEN®, narrowly avoiding the rush hour traffic. I cannot recall exactly what we did afterwards, but eventually we made our way back to our hotel. The next morning, we drove to the airport and caught our flight home. And such was our Pitre Family visit for 2013.
