Monday morning Marc and I met with Rick, our accountant, about our taxes and business matters in Lafayette. Apparently, Syble is the only person left from the original STONE PETROLEUM® (now STONE ENERGY®) company. After meeting with Rick and sorting out our taxes, we drove over to BARNES & NOBLE® by the ACADIANA MALL®. We were hanging out until lunchtime when we met up with Eric. We then made our way to COYOTE BLUES®, a Mexican restaurant also by the ACADIANA MALL®, to have lunch with our (and Dad and Mom's) old buddy Mike Gold.
Mike was lots of fun as usual. Mike's wife Cathy was busy helping their daughter and sadly could not make it. Mike told us about his (and Cathy's) recent health adventures (no new heart stents fortunately). Eric engaged Mike in a long discussion about ADD and ADHD children. Very enlightening about what parents of these children experience raising them. We also enjoyed some Mexican food. After an entertaining lunch and visit, we finally said our goodbyes and headed off for our next adventure.
Marc and I ran some errands, then drove over to visit Eric and Lynne that evening. We visited for a ccouple of hours and discussed our family. Eric told us about duck hunting with our Dad and that Dad was not the best duck hunter. I never hunted with Dad (nor had any interest in hunting), so I have no idea. Marc and Eric then talked at length about Mardi Gras and Eric's experience riding in Marc's place in the parade this year. Eric and Lynne told us about their trip to the California wine country. Eric in particular told us about visiting Muir Woods, a park with beautiful Redwood trees. Then we said our goodbyes and drove back to our hotel, and such was our Monday.
