MONDAY

Visiting with Rick

We got up and drove over to POSTLETHWAITE & NETTERVILLE'S Office and visited with our friend and accountant Rick. Rick is doing great as ever. He talked up a storm about:

We visited for almost 3 hours. Sadly, I forgot to ask about Syble and Allan Durand.

Lunch and saving the world with Mike

After visiting with Rick, we headed out for our annual lunch with Mike at COYOTE BLUES®. I got the guacamole and chips, some veggies, and the crawfish burrito. They tasted great but sure upset my stomach later :-( I guess I have to swear off Mexican food now :-(((

We caught up on fmaily news and then ventured into the world economy. Mike feels that many Louisiana cities. along with Chicago, are as creditworthy as Greece; they are basically at Junk Bond Status because of outstanding obligations to pension plans for police and firefighters and other government employees. And that does not even cover paying into these programs to cover future obligations.

I asked Mike what he thought was the reason for the Vietnam War. He felt it was about China wanting South Vietnam's rice crop because South Vietnam was the rice bowl of southeast Asia (I have heard various explanations for why we were in Vietnam and still do notunderstand why we went). After our engaging and enlightening conversation and attempts to save the world again, despite the world's determined efforts not to be saved, we finally said our goodbyes.

Evening with Felix and Gai

Later that evening we visited for a while with Felix and Gai. I felt exhausted from all of the driving and visiting we had done for the past week, so I cannot recall what we talked about. I think that we discussed ancient Sacred Sites in Malaysia, Thailand, and Cambodia and maybe Laos. After visiting for a while, we returned to our hotel so I could wash clothes and collapse in exhaustion. And such was our day of visiting friends and family for 2015.
