I got up at 06:28AM feeling fully refreshed for a welcome change :-) Marc was exercising on the elliptical machine. Sophia opened her stocking with Steve's help. Everybody else was asleep, so I felt surprised that Sophia was able to sneak past Marion when getting up. Around 06:48AM the boys got up. Easy to tell, they were pretty loud and noisy. They found plenty of candy in their stockings. The kids were as loud and rowdy as ever. They ate their breakfast quickly and put up the clean dishes that were in the dishwasher.
Around 07:20AM I went back down into the basement to practice Yoga and build up an appetite for Christmas Dinner. I gave it my best effort.
Around 09:00AM we got called up to open our Christmas Gifts. We each took turns opening a gift. The kids were quite impatient to open all of their gifts all at once. And they felt annoyed with me for taking so long to open my gifts. Hey, we need to preserve that gift wrap! Think of the planet for once!! Well, we all racked up with plenty of great gifts. After about an hour we were done. Then Jackie and Steve sent the kids looking for Santa Claus's gift. They ran around the house looking for it, conveniently leaving Marion, Marc, Steve, and I to pick up the boxes and wrapping paper. Jackie started cooking dinner, or rather finish cooking dinner because she started the gumbo the day before.
I helped Marion and Steve set the table for dinner, while Marc walked to ZUPAN'S to buy some vanilla ice cream. Then Steve cooked some rice to go with the gumbo. And finally we were ready to eat some yummy Christmas Dinner :-) Dinner consisted of:
After dinner the kids dashed off to watch POKEMON (James) and play NINTENDO (John and Sophia), while we adults cleaned up. Afterwards, I visited with Jackie and Marion for a while, then went downstairs to the basement to surf the InterNet.
I spent the rest of the afternoon playing pool with Jackie, Steve, and Marc. We also watched several episodes of KEY & PEELE and some stand up comedy from Kevin Hart and John Oliver. Around 10:30PM I started fading. I surfed the InterNet for another 30 minutes, then went to bed. And such was my Christmas Day for 2014. I had fun and enjoyed myself. And I might actually have learned a little more about playing pool!
