FRIDAY - Driving to California

Visiting the MOJAVE MUSEUM OF HISTORY AND ART in Kingman

Friday morning Marc and I rolled out of Sedona for Ridgecrest. We stopped in Kingman to visit the MOJAVE MUSEUM OF HISTORY AND ART. Although their website showed some photos of the Maddux family from about 100 years ago, we did not see any photos of our family on display. When I asked the host about our family photos, she gave me an e-mail address to contact about the photos. I did learn a little about the area: Chloride, Oatman, and Kingman. In particular about gold mining in these areas using cyanide extraction. I felt neutral about my visit to the museum. After walking through the museum and reading all of the exhibits, we returned to our road trip, stopping only in Barstow for Marc to get his STARBUCKS drink of the day. We had a peaceful uneventful drive to Ridgecrest (my favorite kind).

Dinner with Uncle Bill and Lynne

We checked into our hotel and called Uncle Bill and Tom to meet up for dinner. Sadly, Tom could not make it. So we met Uncle Bill and Lynne at VICTORIA'S Restaurant in the HERITAGE INN & SUITES. We talked about various subjects, including:

After visiting for a couple of hours, we said our goodbyes. Marc and I returned to our hotel and crashed for the night. And such was our Friday in California.
