SUNDAY - Celebrating Father's Day with Steve and his Dad Stephen

To celebrate Father's Day, we first went to the Australian World War I Memorial in northern Sydney. A veteran recovering from a mustard gas attack created this memorial. He served in Egypt and Gallipoli. I guess Egypt rubbed off on him. The memorial felt sombre and quiet, sitting among the Eucalyptus trees.

We then drove over to the restaurant the COOK'S GARDEN®. I would call the cuisine continental. After enjoying a wonderful lunch, we retired to Jackie and Steve's house and spent the rest of the day mellowing out.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday went by quickly without much to report. Wednesday evening Steve kindly drove me to the airport, and I flew home. And that was my Australian trip for 2011.
