SUNDAY - Mom's Birthday

We celebrated Mom's birthday on Sunday. Her birthday was actually on Monday this year, but Mom and Marc were leaving early Monday morning. So, we celebrated her birthday on Sunday. So that morning, Jackie and Steve, Marc, Mom, and I drove up to Pleasanton to visit with Carol and Robert. Along the way, we passed by their previous home in Pleasanton. We then drove to Carol and Robert's new home. Yes Carol and Robert have moved along with Jackie and Steve and me. I guess the moving bug bit everybody this year :-) Anyhow, Carol and Robert now have a spacious new kitchen. Carol gave Mom and me (the newcomers) a guided tour of the house. My favorite piece of furniture was this unusual lamp. After checking out their new home, we departed for lunch. We ate lunch at the ROSE HOTEL® in Pleasanton. The ROSE HOTEL® has a Sunday Brunch buffet, with lots of nice food. In particular, they have a good cheesecake dessert. Anyhow, we sat down at our table, from left to right, Marc, Steve, Jackie, Robert, Carol, and Mom (with her back to the camera). We ate our fill, which included plenty of scrambled eggs and vegetables for me.

Afterwards we separated. Robert, Mom, and Jackie returned to Carol and Robert's house. Marc and Steve walked to THE WINE STEWARD®, a wine shop just a couple of blocks from the ROSE HOTEL®. Carol and I drove to a running shoe store whose name I no longer recall. I hung out while Carol browsed through the store. Steve and Marc later joined us. After checking out the store, we all returned to Carol and Robert's. We sat around and visited. Carol showed us slides of her race in Las Vegas. Robert, Steve, and Marc got into a discussion of networking TIVO® with your computer. I just kind of absorbed it all :-) After a couple of hours of visiting, we said our goodnbyes and departed.
