Early Monday morning, before I woke up, Jackie and Steve took Mom and Marc to the airport to catch their flight. I arose later and slowly packed, to make sure that I did not forget anything. I met Jackie and Steve for lunch at STRAITS®, a Singaporean/Indian/Thai seafood restaurant. We had an enjoyable lunch, which did not require me to fight with my food before eating it (a first for me). Afterwards, I hit the road back to Arizona. I spent the night in Barstow and drove home the next day. And such was our celebration of Mom's Birthday this year.
Sadly, this Birthday was the last that I celebrated with Mom when she was still relatively healthy. I missed Mom's next 2 Birthdays because I was travelling. And the next Birthday was her last, when she was not feeling well.
