I got up @ 05:36AM feeling exhausted. I practiced the 5 Tibetan Rites of Rejuvenation and 5 minutes of Kundalini "Breath of Fire" exercises, got a shower, and finished packing for our trip. Marc picked me up around o7:34AM, and we hit the road for Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. We encountered dense fog and cold wet weather driving all of the way down to Phoenix. We checked our bags and got through security on time, then walked to our gate very leisurely. We arrived at our gate to find the airline announcing a gate change from A29 to B14. So we walked from 1 end of Concourse A to the other end of Concourse B, fortunately with plenty of time. We boarded on time, but as usual took off late. We were 35 minutes late taking off and landing (the pilot could not make up the lost time). I made the mistake of eating my organic protein bar early, before boarding our flight. By the time we got to Jackie and Steve's house I was feeling a hunger headache, which lasted the rest of the day :-(
Steve was kind enough to meet us at the airport and transport us home. Portland traffic was congested all of the way from the airport to Jackie and Steve's house. Despite the adversity, we finally made it home and unloaded our luggage. I took my vitamins and supplements, then we piled into the car and left for dinner at the organic Mexican restaurant VERDE COCINA. We had a great meal (as usual); I even ate some bacon. After all, I could nto let John eat all of the bacon! However, after filling my stomach I still had a hunger headache :-(
After dinner we walked over to the beer pub ROGUE NATION so Marc and Steve could sample the fine beers in that establishment. Jackie got a coffee, Marc, got a Hazelnut Brown Ale, and Steve got an extremely bitter double chocolate beer. Steve then bought 4 cases of beer for Christmas and weekend guests. Then we piled into the mini-van and head for home. Jackie dropped off Steve and Marc at FRED MEYER so they could do some more shopping. Then we drove home. I still felt hungry, so I ate another (my 2nd of the day) organic protein bar. No change.
A little while later Jackie left and picked up Marc and Steve. Then the kids' friend Ursula came over to spend the night and watch PIXELS. James protested about having to watch PIXELS again beforehand, but he sat and watched it with the other kids after Ursula arrived.
I stayed up until 09:00PM or so to let my dinner digest. I was pretty comatose the whole time, not much company for Marc, Jackie and Steve. Then I went to bed and slept soundly until about 05:18AM. I went back to sleep and got up around 07:00AM or so feeling like my usual fantastic self. I sure needed that sleep!
