Saturday morning we just strolled around San Carlos, where we ate breakfast at THE ENGLISH ROSE®. Mom and Jackie then commneced to shopping, while Marc, Steve, and I checked out a pet store. We then moved on to a men's clothing store called SARTORRI'S®. Steve and I tried on various coats. We then suffered through Mom and Jackie's shopping spree at a shoe store carrying ROCKPORTS®. Marc then rang up his old New Orleans buddy Matt, and we went to visit him.
Matt lives in a suburb near Oakland called Alameda , which is also north of the San Francisco Bay. Matt's house has an incredible back yard , which Jackie and Steve just loved. We visited with Matt for a couple of hours. Matt gave us a tour of his house and a little background history about it. Like the place has 5 layers of roofing; the previous owners just built 1 layer on top of the other, instead of replacing the previous layer. Consequently, the house is very quiet. Matt also kindly prepared some Lemon Crush drinks for us. Matt has not completely finished moving in, so the front room in particular is kind of cluttered. Hence, I am not showing pictures of that. Around 4:00 we left and drove to Palo Alto to eat dinner at a Greek restaurant called EVVIA®. Mom, Marc, Jackie and Steve pigged out. I drank a little wine, and that was it.
After dinnner we rolled on over to visit Naresh and See-Yai and Mikoo and Max at Naresh and See-Yai's home. Naresh cooked up some great Crab Cakes. So, I finally! got to eat 1 of Naresh's legendary Crab Cakes, and yes they were good. He made a really awesome sauce to go with the Crab Cakes. After feasting on those yummy crab cakes, Naresh and See-Yai showed us some pictures of their Summer visit to Paris and London. Around 11:00 PM, we finally rolled out back to Steve and Jackie's.
Sunday morning, bright and early, Marc and I flew home. This Thanksgiving was the last one that Mom celebrated with us in San Francisco.
