SATURDAY - Visiting at Felix and Gai's

Saturday morning Mom and I drove to PREJEAN'S® , a great Cajun restaurant off of I-49. Marc and his then-girlfriend Adele were already seated when we got to PREJEAN'S®. Felix and Gai and David arrived just after Mom and I did. We chowed down at PREJEAN'S®, starting with their outstanding Crab Cake appetizer. I was the only one to finish my meal. Fortunately, we got doggy bags for the uneaten food. Marc and Adele forgot their food at Mom's, so Mom and I divided up the spoils. Life was good.

After lunch at PREJEAN'S®, we drove over to Felix and Gai's home for dessert. Anissa was home but asleep. She lives on Anissa time, which is kind of like Tulsa Time only later. Marc and I were amazed that Felix still had Dad's old Ford EXPLORER® (in the garage on the right) . Even more amazing, it still works. In fact, it looks brand new! I guess it's just another unsolved mystery of life. The weather was perfect, so we sat outside on the patio . Here is a shot of Gai, David, Felix, and Marc obscured by Felix . Here is another shot of Felix, Gai, Marc, and Adele on the patio. Gai plants and maintains the gardens behind their home. She planted some Amaryllis plants which just finished blooming . After Gai gave us a tour of her gardens and flowers, she and Felix served coffee and cake. Gai made a nice red velvet cake with cherries on top. David bailed out early to visit his Mom in Ville Platte. After talking a while Mom, Marc, Adele, and I bailed out as well.

Adele and Marc then went to visit Adele's Aunt in the hospital. Mom invited Mike and Cathy over while Marc and Adele were out. Mike and Cathy arrived around 5, and we immediately commenced to drinking. Marc and Adele returned a little while later. Here is a shot of Mom and Cathy while they were still sober. I also got a shot of Mom, Mike, Marc, and Adele obscured by Marc , when Marc and Adele returned. Finally, I got a group shot of Cathy, Mike, Marc, and Mom while still sober. Mike updated us on his motorcycle adventures and discussed the best bike to get with Marc. We cleaned out a few bottles of booze from Mom's liquor cabinet. I dutifully took said empty bottles to the Recycling Center.
