Thanksgiving In California

FRIDAY - Celebrating my Birthday

Friday we celebrated my birthday. We went to a seafood restaurant whose name I cannot spell or pronounce. I ordered the Crab Claws to prevent a repeat of last year's fight to the finish to crack open the uncrackable Lobster. Unfortunately, the Crab Claws were just about as uncrackable as the Lobster. I guess next year I will eat steak. After lunch we retired to Jackie and Steve's place to eat Red Velvet cake. Jackie and Mom cooked it using Aunt Lou's recipe, because Aunt Lou makes the best Red Velvet cake in the world. Jackie also made some Strawberry Butter like RUGGLES® (a Houston restaurant) serves. I had Red Velvet cake with Cool Whip and Strawberry Butter. It was delicious. Later we went driving around Silicon Valley. We drove up and down some mountain. Then we ate dinner at a restaurant at the base of the mountain. Then we brought Mom back to Jackie and Steve's place, and we saw Tim Burton's SLEEPY HOLLOW®. It was great, especially Johnny Depp. I really enjoyed it.

THE WEEKEND

Saturday we just strolled around some town in the morning, where we ate breakfast. We then brought Marc to the airport. After seeing Marc off, we went into Palo Alto and looked at books in BORDERS® Bookstore. We then retired to Jackie and Steve's home and watched movies. The rest of the day went by quietly, except that I caught a cold. Sunday morning Mom and I flew home: me to Houston, and Mom to Louisiana.
