We celebrated Christmas at my Mom's townhouse in Lafayette. The weather was cool and Christmas-y the whole weekend, which was nice. I drove into Lafayette the Thursday before Christmas. Our cousin Felix and his wife Gai hosted a dinner for all of our various Pitre family members. In typical Dan fashion, I drank a lot of wine. While visiting, I also took a couple of pictures. When I arrived at Felix and Gai's home, Felix, Gai, and Felix's younger brother Dallas, Junior, were already present. Felix and Dallas, Junior , were sitting around the kitchen table at Felix and Gai's place. Also present when I arrived was Felix and Dallas, Junior's Mom, Aunt Lou . Shortly thereafter, Felix's youngest brother David and Felix and Gai's daughters Julia and Anissa arrived. They hung out in Felix and Gai's living room eating chocolate . David was kind of a surprise because we did not know he got the day off. Later, after my camera had run out of battery power, Mom, Jackie and Steve arrived. They had been shopping in the Big Easy all day. Isn't that a surprise? Eric and Lynn and Erica arrived as well. Later when food was served, Louis came along. Aunt Dora also showed up. So, Felix and Gai had a full house that night. Great company, great food, and great alcohol.
After leaving Felix and Gai's house, I visited my old friend Mark Fitzpatrick at his parents' home. Mark, his wife Anne, their son Andrew, and Mark's parents were home. We had a wonderful visit and caught up on current events. Mark and Anne recently moved to Europe on account of Mark's company transferred him. Their son Andrew is a happy kid and was having a lot of fun the whole time that I visited. He really went to town with the gifts from Mark's parents. After visiting with Mark, I returned to Mom's house.
