SUNDAY - Visiting with the Nelsons

Sunday morning I drove to New Orleans to visit Aunt Nell and Uncle Norman, and cousin Jennifer. I arrived to find the weather sunny and beautiful. I noticed that uptown New Orleans looked amazing; the damage that Hurricane Katrina caused was gone, along with the flooded out cars. Aunt Nell greeted me when I arrived. Uncle Norman was up and sociable and quite verbal. Jennifer was her usual chatty self :-)

After visiting for a while, we went to MARTINIQUE BISTRO®, which was just around the corner from their house, for Sunday Brunch. The restaurant had an amazing New Orleans seafood cuisine, and the food was dee-licious. I definitely ate my heart out :-)

After an enjoyable brunch, we returned to their home to visit. Jennifer and Aunt Nell regaled me with tales of contractors and house remodels, which strengthened my resolve to never live in a house being remodeled. Uncle Norman listened for a little while, then retired for a nap. I also enjoyed visiting with Sister Andrea, who was helping Aunt Nell and Uncle Norman. I ended up visiting with Jennifer and Aunt Nell for the whole day. After saying goodbye I drove back to Lafayette. And that was my Sunday visit with the Nelsons for 2009.

MONDAY

Monday I had lunch and visited with family friends Mike and Cathy Gold. They were their usual fun selves, with great stories of getting into trouble (of course I would never do that). That afternoon I again visited with Julie. This time we visited all afternoon and had a great visit. That evening I visited with Felix and Gai and Aunt Lou; sort of my farewell dinner to Lafayette.

TUESDAY - Saying Goodbye to Lafayette and Dinner with David and Melissa

The next morning I visited with Aunt Lou and said goodbye to her and Lafayette. Then I drove to Houston and spent the afternoon visiting with Melissa, Jonathan, Gabriel, and Benjamin. We picked up David at work and ate dinner at RUGGLES® in SAKS 5TH AVENUE® in the Houston Galleria. The food was awesome as usual. I could not decide on the desserts, so I got both the peanut butter cup and the bread pudding. It was fantastic! And boy was I stuffed to the gills. Afterwards we returned to David and Melissa's home. David and I visited for a couple of hours and caught up on computers and modeling. Then I headed over to my hotel near the airport. The next morning I slept late and caught my flight home. And that was my Louisiana visit for 2009. Whew!
