FRIDAY - arriving in Ridgecrest

Marc and I made our annual drive into California to see the Maddux Clan once again. The drive was calm enough (although we saw plenty of road construction between Williams and Kingman in Arizona), which made me very happy. We eventually arrived in town and checked into our hotel.

We drove over to THE GRAPE LEAF for dinner and met Uncle Bill and Lynne at the restaurant. We spent the meal catching up on past events. We also discussed

After a pleasant visit, we drove over to Uncle Bill and Lynne's house ot visit some more. Tom and Hunter arrived shortly after us to complete the visit. We disucssed various topics, including the 4 German tourists who died in Death Valley back in the late 1990s and where to go 4 wheeling the next day. We also discussed Dad's hunting dog Gunner and his misadventures with Dad, along with Dad's unwillingness to buy retail, underground military bases, and ETs. Supposedly, somebodty saw some ETs around Lone Pine, which is a couple of hours north of Ridgecrest. On a less exciting note, Uncle Bill told us that 1 of our ancestors is buried in Randsburg, which is on the way from Kramer's Junction to Ridgecrest. Then Hunter started wheezing, so Tom took him home. Then Marc and I said our goodbyes and returned to our hotel to crash for the night.

SATURDAY - Breakfast with Aunt Pat and MarLyn and Tom and Hunter

After a very relaxing night's sleep, we got up and exercised. Then we drove over to LUGO'S to find that Aunt Pat and MarLyn and Tom and Hunter were already seated (okay, we were late). Aunt Pat and MarLyn were as chipper as ever. Tom was his usual happy self. Hunter was a little impatient to go play video games with his friends, but he hung in there with us boring adults.

We discussed the churches in Ridgecrest, including which church offers the best Good Friday meals. Aunt Pat and MarLyn filled us in on Mike and Lisa and their boys, who are doing well. I cannot recall the rest of our conversation because I was thinking about our next adventure: 4 wheeling with Uncle Bill and Tom. After a pleasant visit, we finally said our goodbyes and headed off for our next adventure.
