Monday morning I got up early, drove to the airport in Phoenix, flew to Houston, and then drove to Lafayette. I had a peaceful and uneventful drive through east Texas and into Louisiana. I arrived in Lafayette with just enough time to check into my hotel and meet everybody for dinner at DON'S Seafood Hut®. When I got to the restaurant Aunt Lou, Felix and Gai, Eric and Lynne, Julie, Claire, Louis and Monica and their son Kevin and his girlfriend were already present. Well, I was suffering crawfish withdrawal symptoms so I ordered the crawfish dinner with crawfish prepared 50 zillion different ways. And that was my homecoming dinner for 2008.
Tuesday I slept late and drove around Lafayette visiting old familiar places. I even visited our old house on Kimball Drive. In the evening I went over to Felix and Gai's home and visited with them for a while. I cannot recall what we talked about, but I enjoyed my visit.
