These photos are the first 2 that I took with my large format camera. I used an Ebony RW45 4x5 camera and Fuji VELVIA 100 color slide film on both photos. We hiked up a wash for a while and came to these Maples. Ian checked my composition and focus on both images, so he deserves a lot of credit for these images. I liked the contrast of the blue rocks and yellow-green leaves in the foreground with the orange and red maples leaves in the midground and then the blue-green leaves in the background. I used a Rodenstock SIRONAR-S 135mm f5.6 lens for the above photo.
I took the photo below a few minutes later. I used Ian's Schneider SUPER-SYMMAR XL 110mm f5.6 lens, which gave a slightly wider field of view and made the Maples slightly smaller and more set in space.
I love both photos; beginner's luck for sure.
