SUNDAY - Christmas Eve

This Christmas was our first without Mom. Like Thanksgiving, the event felt subdued and quiet, not as joyous and fun as usual. Adele and I arrived in San Francisco on Sunday. I forget if Marc was already there or arrived after us (if I recall correctly, Marc drove to San Francisco). I cannot recall what we did that day, probably just visited. That evening we had dinner at Monica's, a friend of Jackie and Steve's, place. Jackie and Steve loaded up the boys into the van, who slept soundly on the drive over. Sophia behaved quite well on her first Christmas Eve. I recall a couple of other people being present. Jackie and Steve's friend Monica was Polish, so we had some Polish food for dinner. We ate and visited for a couple of hours. Then we headed back to Jackie and Steve's house for the night. And that was our Christmas Eve for 2006.
