The last morning at VENTANA INN® I got up early and walked the hotel loop north side to photograph the Redwood trees roughly behind our room. Both of these photos are from a "Faerie Ring" I saw on the right side of the trail looking north down the hill/mountain. The 1st/horizontal shot gives the feeling of the "Faerie Ring", while the 2nd/vertical shot gives the feeling of the tallness of the Redwood trees. Both of these photos capture the still quiet of the morning among the Redwoods. I feel that the colors are muted, maybe too muted for my taste. I prefer the 1st shot because less of the blown out sky appears, creating less of a distraction from the trees.
I took these photographs with my Fuji GSW690III MF Rangefinder camera and Fuji VELVIA 100 film.
