I took these photos on my 2nd trip out to this area with Ian . They represent a kind of reprise of my 1st 2 LF photos. The above photo has the soft pre-dawn light of my 1st 2 photos, giving the image a quiet feeling. I used my Ebony RW45 4x5 camera and Fuji VELVIA 100 color slide film on both photos. I used a Schneider SUPER-ANGULON XL 90mm f5.6 lens for the above photo.
I took the photo below about an hour later. The sun had risen over the horizon, and the light is sharper and stronger, giving the image a more dramatic look. I used a Rodenstock SIRONAR-S 135mm f5.6 lens, which gave a more cropped and immediate feel to the Maple trees.
I like both photos; they demonstrate what a difference that lighting can make on a scene.
