I hiked Kachina trail on Mount Humphreys a couple of days later. I took these photos about a mile or so down the trail just before sunset, and the golden light of sunset really comes through. I used my Ebony SV810 large format 8x10 camera and Nikon NIKKOR-SW 120mm f8 lens for both photos. The 120mm lens is an extreme wide angle lens on 8x10, so the trees on the sides of the photo tilt inward, which creates a cool effect of directing your eye into the center of the photo. The trees on the left are lit, while the trees on the right on in shadow, creating a nice balance of light and dark. The darker Pine trees also contrast nicely with the Aspens. The blue sky beautifully complements the golden colors of the Aspens leaves. I took the above photo with Fuji VELVIA 50 color slide film.

I took the photo below a few minutes later. I took the photo below with Fuji PRO 160S color negative film.

I prefer the VELVIA 50 photo because the leaves and sunlight are just more golden and brilliant than in the negative photo.
